Unlock Any MacBook Without The Password

At some point last night I learned of a software flaw in Mac OS High Sierra. This flaw allows any user to log into a Mac system (running that software) using the user name “root”. This root account grants the individual access to to ALL other accounts on the system where they can then change credentials including log in passwords for other personal accounts. Please look for an upcoming update from Apple and update your MacBooks, iMacs and other Mac systems running High Sierra. The purpose of this video is to inform users so their systems don’t become compromised or remain susceptible.

    My other macbook pro, which I had recently updated to High Sierra, is locked through Find My Mac, which is an iCloud account. But I do not have and have never had an iCloud account. I have owned the mac from new (2011) and I have always used one password to use the mac. There are are number of videos that claim to have the solution, but so far they have not helped. Is there a simple solution that does not involve seeking a mac genius at the local mac store or dismantling the machine?

    I just did this, typed in "root" and it remains LOCKED ... guess they've fixed it meanwhile so you can basically delete this video as otherwise you let people WORRY big time...for...nothing ;o) Nonetheless thanks anyway for having shared it when it was necessary :o) Much Love, Heidi
