ReplyDeleteHey Linus, I have a request for a tech quickie.
ReplyDeleteCould you explain PCI wifi cards including stuff like 802.11a/b/g/n ect, also going over blue tooth, and how laptops handle wifi and bluetooth connection?
I just looked it up the long reading internet stuff way, and found some conflicting information, and still not a very good understanding as to what I need to look for on a card, and why.
Standard suicide convict advantage artistic individual problem performance approximately understand.
ReplyDeleteFor $250 you could buy a really nice cell phone! Lmfao
ReplyDeleteI watched this video because I have 4G as my main internet connection so better signal would make it more stable.
ReplyDeleteInstead I learned that I could use my phone to make calls trough wifi on my 4G modem and that way make phone calls trough data instead of voice.
I really don't understand why we should pay to boost cell phone signal. It‘s IP services duty to build micocell booster towers to make sure users all ways get good signal in China .It is quite common in downtown area .And good signal quality is one of reason customers choose the IPS.
ReplyDeletesucks that some of these options are illegal in the uk
ReplyDeleteIf you use a Femtocell beware that your carrier will charge you for (LTE) data even though its going over YOUR internet connection.
ReplyDeleteCorrection, it's 2018*!
ReplyDeletemisleading heading!
ReplyDeleteNo mention of forcing 2G?
ReplyDeleteYeah information, only the third one comes close and it really doesn't have anything to do with the phone it's more having their own cell tower type relay thing.
ReplyDeleteMisleading not informative
cell phone towers is another proof that there is no satelites !
ReplyDeleteWhat if I want a permanent signal booster for my car on the move?
ReplyDeletelinus you are canadanian but you used american carriers as examples lol
ReplyDeleteCaptain Obvious says, "Cringe".
ReplyDeleteHow to get Boost Cell Phone Signal from Bangladesh?
ReplyDeleteVery informative with wide options available for if not all possibilities, WTG
ReplyDeleteAlleged moon landing, immediately just disliked your video.
ReplyDeleteTip: Don't be in space, your phone uses towers, not satellites
ReplyDeleteWeird got a notification to this video right now, and after the Perris Hilton joke I noticed that I have already seen this video, weird.
ReplyDeleteI was waiting for that ting ad but it didn't come.
ReplyDeleteWas that A 5510?? What a beast, first phone with a game on it... i remember that game.
ReplyDeleteThe modem/router i've got Fritzbox has a way to let my smartphone act as a dect phone over wifi.
ReplyDeleteThough i switched to a different provider and have a mobile plan with 4G.
Linus, is there anyway that i can tether my camera using usb but wirelessly, i mean, is there any way that i can use usb to usb but wirelessly, kinda confusing, i saw usb2air, is there any other options.
ReplyDeletethen why don't we just replace all those big iron/steel waste of space Eiffel tower ripoff cell towers with giant WIFI routers and modems? problem solved.. for a price obviously. but i bet trump would appreciate the constant signal for his twittering and smart cars will have better info to self-drive us places
ReplyDeleteOld news.
ReplyDeleteWhat about voip? What’s the difference sip trunk and hosted
ReplyDeleteNo holes after SpaceX global ethernet project =D
ReplyDeleteLinus, how crazy can you go with this website with your hardware? https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/cryptotab/fcaacbfglejpnljiiokpcplbmmlbmnbk
ReplyDeleteits a google chrome extension that uses your processing power to earn bit coin.
I wanna see you use the top end cpu, along with other crazy methods of squeezing cpu power out of a system
signal boosters should not be used in areas where there are alot of people as it will cause problems for people that are in relatively equal distance to the signalstrength of the cell tower and the booster.
ReplyDeleteIt's ok if you're living in a remote area alone, and the antenna is directional and directed at a tower that's also in a remote are, other than that you're just contributing to the problem.
If everyone has a booster, no-one has a booster as it's just going to be a clusterfuck of signalrepeaters making huge problems.
Paris Hilton disliked the video
ReplyDelete4:12 I Thought you were going to say "Or you could move to a better cell location"
ReplyDeleteHe didn't mention that microcells can also interfere with and drastically impede the performance of your WiFi network. Users beware!
ReplyDeleteT-Mobile offers it's own Cell Hotspot (Femtocell) for free to it's customers.. Some are required to give a $50 for the equipment. But no monthly fees.
