If they let you record for longer and also at a 16:9 aspect ratio these could actually be used outside of Snapchat. But paying $150 just to open your Snapchat capability is a waste.
ReplyDeleteThey still look ridiculous.
ReplyDeleteIf I’ve to watch a 5 min and still don’t really think there’s anything new, then there isn’t.
ReplyDeleteGotta give sam sheffer a shout-out for the footage
ReplyDeleteI want an insta spectacles
ReplyDeleteHe looks like the Beta version of Rhett from GMM
ReplyDeleteThe photos look terribly distorted. Not very useful.
ReplyDeleteWhy is this guy so cranky?
ReplyDeleteThey look very similar and that means they’re both ugly.
ReplyDelete"I was a fan of the original spectacles" lol!
ReplyDeletePeople won't wear these because round glasses look ugly on most face shapes (including this reviewer). They should have put these cameras on something similar to Ray-Ban Wayfarer or Aviator frames.
ReplyDeleteWas that @SamSheffer at the end? 😜
ReplyDeleteSnapchat sealed its fate with the horrible update.
ReplyDeleteIts performance seems to be snappy
ReplyDeleteI don't think it is different from v1 but I hope they succeed in bringing the idea of wearable cameras to public interest because. well here is why :) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HT8guwvZiWk I think gopro could do a better job than snapchat specially if itsn't tied to using the footage in a one dead slow buggy app specially on android
ReplyDeleteIf I worked for snap, I would of called em Snaptecles.... but ok
ReplyDeleteTerrible idea. Pretty much spying on people without their consent/knowledge. If I see someone with them, I'll be turning away immediately. That's just uncomfortable af..
ReplyDeletesnapchat in 2018 lol
ReplyDeleteLame just got lamer
ReplyDeleteI hate the style.
ReplyDelete1. They used a the keyhole design again. I get it tells people they're "Snapchat Glasses" but still it's a design that puts people off. Why not just release different designs?
ReplyDelete2. 16:9 videos and pictures would be nice too instead of circular videos. I have a friend who wants to use them for when he rides his motorcycle but soon as he heard it's tied down to only Snapchat's platform and uses only the circular format he passed.
3. Should just automatically sync to your phone when connected to WiFi. They're supposed to be as convenient as possible. That's why some people pay the premium. But it won't even do that still.
It may have corrected some issues but there's still a lot of issues to be corrected. I got Gen 1 for free lately and they're nice, however, if I'd have actually bought them I'd be pretty disappointed.
can I use it without snapchat app?
ReplyDeletewaste of a generation
ReplyDeleteI still don't like to watch the vids in that circular format, and I was hoping to see another frame at least
ReplyDeleteCasey Newton not Neistat but looks more like Neistat with the spectacles and stuff
ReplyDeleteSnapchat is dead
ReplyDeleteJeepers peepers wired/snap fans are 5G creepers.
ReplyDeleteHave you lost weight Casey?
ReplyDeleteIf they were styled like Wayfarers or aviators, I'd consider it. I won't even buy these sunglasses because I don't like design. Seriously. I would NEVER wear those. They made one type for one specific face shape. Anyone who knows about glasses knows that you need different styles for different face shapes.
ReplyDeleteThe problem is.. It's so damn ugly
ReplyDeleteLame 😒
ReplyDeleteThis is some nonsense!
ReplyDeletebad

ReplyDeleteWhile this is a newer and better product the controversy around snap is going to hold it back. One of the Kardashian doesn't use it anymore. Rhianna stopped using it. It user base was not happy with the new redesign. So those issues might hold the glasses back
ReplyDeleteBiggest problem is that videos don't export square or rectangular, so you're stuck with a video that only looks good on Snapchat. If they were to release a "Spectacles" app, designed to export square or rectangular videos to your phone, then I think they'd sell more, because even if you didn't use Snapchat, you might want to get some POV videos for your YouTube channel, or your IG account. ALSO, we should be allowed to plug the glasses up to our computers, so we can get the videos right from there. But with the circle video and the slow exporting, they're going to sell worse than the 1st gen, 100%
ReplyDelete(I own the first versions. I still use them once in awhile, I'll be bringing them with me the next time I go to Six Flags, because you can get some really nice roller coaster POVs, but I just export the video and upload them to my IG story..)
I'm really hoping Instagram brings out their own, because I know they'd do it right, and maybe even add a "Go live" feature on them, which would be insane.
Why are they working on extra products when even their official app is slowly dying?
ReplyDeleteOne problem is that the circular video is just annoying
ReplyDeleteand the resale begins in three...two...one...
ReplyDeleteYeah, no these aren’t for me I already have a pair of spectacles that I never used😂😂
ReplyDeleteis not worth it, junk and waste of money.
ReplyDeleteSnaptacles wasnt a naming option?
ReplyDeleteMy biggest issue with them is because of that weird video format. If they or anyone else does it in the standard wide screen format, I'd buy them in a heartbeat!
ReplyDeleteThe problem with the Glasses are that it's still ugly and I can't really see anyone wearing it as an accessory
ReplyDeleteSo...spiky hair is back ?
ReplyDeleteBut do they work with instagram stories tho ?
ReplyDeleteDo you always have to physically touch the button on the glasses to turn on record? Sucks if so.
