Please tell me that question 6 about the doors and guards made no sense to someone else as well. Because with the way he says it they would both say that its the door of death but how will you know which one is telling the truth as you only ask one guard. The one telling the truth will say that the liar's door, is the door of death but the liar will say that the person who is telling the truth is guarding the door of death. So technically you won't know which door is which.
Can someone please help me i've been thinking this through for the greater part of an hour now and it still leaves me clueless. :/

For number 6, couldn't you ask either guard "Is the truthful guard standing in front of the door to freedom?" If he answers yes, then he's standing in front of the door to freedom (because if he's truthful, then you know the truthful guard is standing in front of the door to freedom, and if he's the liar, then the truthful guard isn't standing in front of the door to freedom, which means he - the lying guard - is). Likewise if he answers no, then he's standing in front of the door to death.

You could ask the guard "is this not the door of freedom?"
ReplyDeleteIf the guard is lying he should say "Yes" if it is the door of Freedom and if it is the door of death he should say No.
I'm just saying but this isn't really a children's book
ReplyDeleteThe first is dumb because he fell down a ladder 30 ft high not from a stair

It can also be the gun one because you said a gun is lurking behind one you didn't say a person was behind it holding the gun
