Hey Jeff, great video. Does this work with the newest MacBook?
ReplyDeleteDoes this work with the Razerblade?
ReplyDeleteCool video, quick question, isn’t this kind of pointless if you have a 4k apple tv that you can just stream the feed from your monitor to the tv screen?
ReplyDeleteYou know you can plug two 4K 60hz display without any sort of dock like this... that video make no sense whatsoever. It’s not like if the dock was adding graphic power or anything.
ReplyDeleteAnd where exactly is the different to all the other docks? I mean 2x 4K60 is no problem with Elgato, Belkin or the OWC dock either. The only downside on them is you need a additional TB3 to DP/HDMI Adapter.
ReplyDeleteWhy just dont buy 2 thunderbolt 3/usb-c displays and connect them directly to mbpro?
ReplyDeletewhat is internet
ReplyDeleteWouldn't the Caldigit TS3 Plus and adapters for the Thunderbolt 3 daisy chain port make more sense (or a USB-C display)? Not that this product doesn't have its space. But I'd go the Caldigit route personally. Your thoughts Jeff?
ReplyDeleteMantiz really realize really good hardware pieces! I have a Venus and it is awesome
ReplyDeleteThis topic is of particular interest to me as I have nothing but problems with my OWC dock trying to run 1 4K TV and a single 1080p monitor. I have to reboot my 2017 MacBook Pro every single day because of this issue, which solves it 100% of the time until I unplug from the display, then it happens all over again when I reconnect. If reboot the machine while it’s plugged in, it will work just fine though. If I don’t reboot the TV will randomly drop signal and the screen will go black. This has happened on multiple new MacBooks and my MacBook Air too. I have tried new cables and OWC even replaced the dock. Plugging the monitors directly into the machine does not solve the issues which is why I don’t believe it to be an issue with the OWC dock, but more so, the way that Mac OS caches previous connected to displays, which is absolutely awful. I can send anyone who is interested a demo video of the problem in action. I can’t tell you how much I would appreciate Apple fixing this, as the TV itself works perfectly fine with every windows 10 pc i plug into it.
