Apple drops...Apple!! :)))
ReplyDeleteApple made routers???
ReplyDeleteI use the Apple airport express and it’s one of the best routers I have owned. I love it.
ReplyDeleteMy AirPort Extreme is BY FAR the best router I’ve ever owned. My previous router was a $200 Asus that had terrible reliability and died completely about a year after purchase. I’ve gone through Netgear and Linksys routers as well. They’ve all required weekly reboots to keep them running halfway decent. My ApE has lasted me over two years and I may have rebooted it only 4 times at the most during that time frame.
ReplyDeleteIt’s sad to see such a quality product be discontinued.
GO FIGURE. AFTER I had several of these installed throughout my house for complete WiFi coverage.
ReplyDeletegood riddance
ReplyDeleteSad. Tim is ruining Apple.
ReplyDeleteWhat is that? I don’t use that 💩.
ReplyDeleteIt's a shame because an older Time Capsule was a really easy andcost-effective way to add a NAS to your network if you have a Mac. I picked mine up on ebay for 50 bucks
ReplyDeleteIt would have sold if it was a dsl modem..who wants a router without a modem ?
ReplyDeleteApple never tell everytime they discontinue a product.
ReplyDeleteDamn it all
ReplyDeletePeople can hate all they want but the Apple routers were always ranked at the top for reliability.
ReplyDelete“cnet router expert”
ReplyDeleteand the only thing this guy can say is “better features faster speeds”
wow no shit
I don't really like Apple products but their routers are amazingly good. I own 3 of then around my house
ReplyDeleteThere is no alternative for any Apple product. Just because no other Router or NAS would work as great and seamless with any other Apple product than an AirPort device or a Time Capsule.
ReplyDeleteUsing Apple products in combination with other devices e.g MacBook and Samsung S9 is just lost potential!
I CAME FOR THE DONG AND LEFT UNHAPPY.
ReplyDeleteHad all three in the past. Thanks apple for putting out products and then stopping support.
ReplyDeleteI didn’t even know Apple had this.
ReplyDeleteI thought this already happened.
ReplyDeleteThis is old news. Everyone knew this last year.
ReplyDeleteI bet you that Apple doesn't even know why they are discounting their routers, of course it could be that NO one was buying them. Next they will discontinue that speaker thing that no is buying. Poor Apple, they just don't know what to do now that their stock keeps dropping.
ReplyDeleteTim Cook prefers Apple to make TV shows that will forgotten in a few months. He has lost the plot.
ReplyDeleteWhat about AirPlay? I have used express to pipe audio thru my home. Is there an alternative other than an Apple TV
ReplyDeleteApple lost their magic
ReplyDeleteWell that sucks
ReplyDeleteThey did this a couple of years ago why are you talking about this now?
ReplyDeleteCan not understand you the loud background sound is distracting. Keep talking I am going.
ReplyDeleteRouters are becoming more Enterprise Class. Apple is NOT an Enterprise Company... NEVER HAS BEEN, NEVER WILL BE.
ReplyDeleteThere is no device like the time capsule out there, i bought mine like 6 years ago and it works flawlessly, it so functional that it bacame my local server in my business (design agency)
ReplyDeleteThree or four Apple Extreme routers would make for a serious mesh network for a home or even a small business.

ReplyDeleteAbout time!! Their routers suck.
ReplyDeleteThis was a unnecessary death
ReplyDeleteThank you, Dan! Greetings from India
ReplyDeleteThey announced this years ago
ReplyDeleteMany years ago, the Harvard Business Review concluded that profitability correlates to market share. Apple can't have very much market share, probably < 10%, Apple is a cell phone company that dabbles in computers. Routers are not important to their success, and can't be very profitable considering the resources it consumes.
ReplyDeleteas a cable tech we always hated them things
